Timeline for Applying to Public Health Programs

Applications to public health programs begin each year in the fall. The information in this timeline begins the January before you apply.

January-April
  • Plan to take the GRE test if not already taken 
  • Meet with Health Professions Advisory Program or other UCS counselor to discuss potential programs and letters of evaluation / recommendation
  • Research and develop list of target programs.
June-August
  • Begin drafting your personal statement
  • Finalize list of target programs, noting application deadlines (Many will be in November or December)
  • Registrar for official transcripts to be sent once spring grades are posted.Review your official transcript for errors prior to making this request
Sept-January
  • Submit applications as early as possible for processing by SOPHAS or individual school application services.
January
  • Have fall transcripts sent to target programs
February-April
  • Evaluate letters of acceptance and offers of financial aid
