Meet With a Counselor

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Wherever you are in the job search process—from not knowing where to start to finalizing the details of your job offer—meeting one-on-one with a counselor or peer advisor will afford you clarity and control over your career development. UCS counselors are available to discuss your career-related interests and will help you create a roadmap for your job search or graduate school plans. The goal of UCS is to teach you the strategies to manage your own career exploration and search processes throughout your career.

Walk Ins:


For quick questions, cover letter and resume review students are encouraged to use our daily walk in advising services with trained Peer Advisors.

Students can meet with a UCS Counselor or a Peer Advisor without an appointment during open hours for quick questions, as well as brief cover letter and resume review. All Peer Advisors have been chosen based on relevant skills and experience, and have completed a thorough and rigorous training program. As Yale students, UCS Peer Advisors possess the insight and perspective to effectively relate to and understand your needs, questions, and concerns.

Daytime Walk Ins:

UCS - 55 Whitney Avenue

  • Weekdays: 11am-5pm when classes are in session
  • Weekdays: 11am-1pm when classes are not in session

Dwight Hall Library - 67 High Street

  • Fridays 1pm-4pm during the Spring 2013 Semester (with the exception of March 29th)

Sessions are 15 minutes long and are available on a first come, first served basis.

Evening Walk Ins:

Students can meet with a Peer Advisor during open hours at each of the residential colleges. Sessions are 15 minutes long and are available on a first come, first served basis.

 

Health Professions Advisory Program (HPAP)

HPAP serves undergraduates and alumni of Yale College interested in pursuing careers in the health professions to make conscious and thoughtful decisions about their future paths.

HPAP Walk Ins:

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays: 2pm-4pm

Sessions are 15 minutes long and are available on a first come, first served basis.
