The Fred Packard Yale World Fellows International Experience Internship Program encourages Yale undergraduates to connect with future leaders from around the globe and provides financial assistance to those who participate in summer internships hosted by current or former Yale World Fellows. Among the many countries featuring World Fellow summer 2012 intern opportunities are: Germany, India, Japan and Switzerland.
Progam Dates: Summer 2012
Internships are open to all current Yale College students, but sophomores and juniors may receive primary consideration. Internship start and end dates will be negotiated with each employer.
Applicants will apply through eRecruiting. The postings will be viewable in eRecruiting by January 2012.
Some employers may have additional application requirements, such as the inclusion of writing samples or completing a second on-line application on their individual websites.
Participants are responsible for all costs incurred associated with the program.
Students are responsible for arranging their own air travel.
Pre-departure health expenses may include Yale Travel Clinic visits for vaccinations and medication. All program participants are required to have health insurance coverage that extends abroad.
Students are responsible for providing their own housing. Housing resources are available to help you locate housing.
Students are responsible for purchasing their own meals.
All international travelers must hold a valid passport. A visa may also be required.
Thanks to the generosity of Fred Packard, a select number of students interning with World Fellows will receive a stipend to assist with their summer expenses. These financial awards may be used to cover travel and living expenses and, for students who are on financial aid, supplemental income contributions. The amount of the summer 2012 stipends will vary by region.
Students may apply for funding in early March through the Student Grants & Fellowships Database. Students are required to submit the following:
